Take Us Out to the Ballgame
By Kirk Lyons
Hello Music World!! A big thanks to all of you that have contacted Shanda and I since her article in the last Communicator. I appreciate, so much, your prayers and encouraging notes!
Although God has continued to sustain us and gently move us through my healing process, I still find it very difficult to focus and concentrate for extended periods of time. With that said, and several reminder notices that I am responsible for holding up the June-August issue of the magazine, I thought it would be wise if I put a few words in print.
Now that I've successfully covered the "few words" part, I am including pictures, for your viewing pleasure, of the Metro III event in Houston April 5th thru 8th. Thanks to Randy Hays, and his crew at Bear Creek Baptist, we were able to secure tickets to a baseball game at Minute Maid Park. Roger Clemens was the starting pitcher on the night we went and we also were allowed onto the field, just behind second base, to sing the National Anthem. Did I mention that Roger Clemens was pitching? Anyway the Metro guys and gals knocked it out of the park and they were greeted by a tremendous standing ovation! Well, I guess folks were already standing, but they cheered really loud for a very long time! Did I mention Roger Clemens was the starting pitcher? By the way, he also knocked in the winning run!
Hey I love you all! Holler if I can ever be of service!
Kirk
PS: For all the other music organizations that are really upset right now because you only got a dinner…… I guess you'll know who to invite to your functions next year! HA!
