You've found the right music and now it's time to get down to the "nitty-gritty" details. Christmas is sooner than we think and there's so much to flesh out and prepare for and that's what this issue is all about. We hope that the "Tip and Tricks" provided here will help you with organizing your production.

Our cover story features an excerpt from a great book by John Plastow, Christmas Magic. This particular piece deals specifically with the tricky, emontionally laden process of auditioning. Also included in our cover story are ideas and thoughts concerning prodctions submitted by our readers. For more information about Christmas Magic read the review by Jerry Evans.

Also in this issue, Lindsay Terry shares the story of "Shine Jesus Shine"; we continue with the second feature of "Modes of Worship" by Mark Garner; Chris Beatty deals with several "disruptions" that can effect your choir's performance and ministry; Brad Herring shares some "technical truths" and Pam Andrews gives tips and tricks for planning children's musicals.

In our upcoming issue we will revisit the topic of the future of choir. Much has been said about this topic and many people have experienced major changes in their worship services. I'd like to invite you to share with us any new trends or changes that have affected your choir, or future issues you may be concerned about. If you'd like to contribute to the discussion please write me at kathy@jjonline.com.

Just a small word of "hello" from me. If you didn't catch last issue, Gary has gone on to persue other pastures and left The Communicator in my hands. For those of you who don't know me, I've been at J&J for close to 18 years and have spent the last 7 as the designer/administrator for J&J OnLine. I hope that I can keep The Communicator as a valuable resource for you and your ministry.

In Christ,

Kathy
