A View From The Front Lines
The First Wave

By Kirk Lyons

I pray that our Lord and God finds all of you well and prospering according to His riches and glory. By the time you read this article our first wave of internal changes will be in place. These changes have come to pass through much prayer and have centered around one scripture, Colossians 3:23-24: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working unto the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving".

Several of our folks will move into new positions and take on new responsibilities. This first of many changes went into affect on October 9th. There are two specific changes that I would like to highlight in this article that we feel will dramatically change the way we serve you. I also want to introduce you to the folks that have filled these key roles.

Sandra Gatwood joined our J&J team just a few months ago and has moved into our customer account relations position. Sandra will be the one you will talk to about any account concerns you may have. She is also the person that will make sure any returns and credits are applied properly to your account. Sandra brings to our team more than 5 years of expertise in account management. Sandra exemplifies the spirit of a true servant and I am confident your dealings with her will be nothing less than pleasant.

The second person I would like to bring to your attention is Al Ruffin. Al has been with J&J for more than 5 years in our receiving department. Al has accepted our newly formed position of Outgoing Inventory Controller. Al will be the final person to inspect an order before it leaves our warehouse. He alone will be responsible for insuring the product you ordered is the product that is shipping to you. Al will also be responsible for invoicing product as it ships.

You will no longer receive a separate invoice in the mail. All necessary paperwork will now come to you at one time. The only other account information you’ll receive by mail will be monthly statements. Our prayer is the consolidation of paperwork you receive, coupled with verified shipments for correctness and a new vision for our bookkeeping department will provide you, our customer, with the best service possible.

We would also appreciate your prayers as we enter into the construction of a larger warehouse facility. Vince Jackson, our warehouse manager, and his entire team have done an incredible job fulfilling orders in a space that they outgrew several years ago. We’re excited to see how God is providing an opportunity for us to expand this antiquated building. This expansion will afford Vince and his team the space they need to succeed in their goal of delivering product to our customers in a timely and efficient way. Please pray that this transition goes smoothly and stays on schedule. We have a very short window of opportunity to complete this project before our January conference schedule kicks into high gear. We’ll be sure to publish an updated photo once construction has been completed.

It is such an exciting time here at J&J Music. Paper and ink can not describe the incredible plans God has laid before us. The efficiency by which we serve you is going to multiply 10 fold. Thank you so much for your patience during our time of growth. For those of you who have walked through the valley with us your steps will not go unrewarded. For those of you who have been away for a season, I would encourage you to give us a call and allow us the opportunity to meet your needs. We have a great team that truly lives to serve the servants and understands the life application of Acts 20:35,"It is more blessed to give than to receive."
