A Word From Sales
Who Do You Want To Send?

By Virginia Beachboard

Are there times when you feel God is speaking to you about doing something and you know you should do it, but, you kinda put it off and basically tell God to let someone else do it? It may be to make a phone call to a choir member. You don’t have to have an agenda. If God is placing someone on your heart there is usually a reason and you don’t have to know what that reason is.

For me personally, there are times when I wake up and have one of you come to mind and I know I need to pray for you. I must admit that I am not always obedient only to find out later that there were circumstances that had taken place and I had missed the opportunity to lift you up in prayer. How we must disappoint God when we don’t act on the opportunities He gives us?

There is a group of young men who call themselves THIS HOPE who sang at our Houston Conference in January. I was listening to a song on one of their CD’s recently, entitled “Send Aaron”, written by Woody Smith, which talks about how Moses loved serving God, but, basically wanted God to send his brother Aaron or someone else to speak for Him, since his speech was slow and he felt inadequate. He pleaded with God to let him out of his mission instead of pleading for God to provide words or strength and courage or ability to get the mission accomplished.

Most of us probably feel like Moses, very inadequate and want to make excuses. If we can send someone else to do the job, it is easier; that way we thought about it, and made excuses long enough for someone else to get the task done. Do you think God would ask Moses to do something that He was not going to give him the resources to do it with? Of course not! We have to face our feelings of inadequacy just like Moses did

.

God gave Moses a staff to carry with him when he went to Egypt, which gave him an assurance of God’s presence and power. The enemy would like for us to believe that we do not have that same assurance today, but, regardless of what our task is, whether it be to speak to someone or when we are facing many trials God has given us His Word with promises and examples of faith. We have to be willing to let God help us in all our tasks. He has promised to never leave us or forsake us (Psalm 9:10).

Let me challenge you, as God has challenged me in writing this, to remember from where our help comes. Psalm 121:2 says, “My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth”. There is no power but God’s, and we should trust Him in all things. We will never outgrow our need for God in our lives.

If God places someone on your heart or gives you a task to do, don’t just sit back and think someone else can take care of it. Be bold with the strength and power God gives you every moment of every day. If He gives you the task, then you are the one He is sending!
