It all began with my annual meeting with Dan Burgess almost two years ago. Each year at MusiCalifornia we sit over a glass of iced tea and talk about the things that are happening in our lives. As Dan asked me what I was working on, I said, "I have been talking with many church musicians who want to involve their congregations in Praise and Worship music, but just don't know how to get started. I want to put together some sort of "praise and worship primer" to help these churches." To which Dan replied, "Well, isn't that ironic. I'm involved in a church plant that needs the same thing, but they can't find the proper tools, so I'm arranging praise and worship music for each week's worship." Thus the birth of an exciting idea...the Worship Music Series.
As a result of that meeting, we have been involved in a two-year development process. What emerged is a state-of-the-art, cutting edge technology worship tool like nothing else available in the marketplace. This unique tool comes in the form of an enhanced CD, where most of the work has already been done for you. We've put together a 12-15 minute collection of worship songs and support pieces for worship leaders, praise teams, instrumentalists and congregations. Dan Burgess arranged all the music and coordinated the orchestrations to complete the package.
Each musical package is developed around a theme using a blend of hymns and the most-used CCLI praise and worship songs being sung by the Church today.
That in itself is a great thing, but the "unusual" has just begun. On the enhanced CD is a demonstration recording of the package, a split track version, plus rehearsal cues already on the disc. All you have to do is insert the disc in your CD player of computer, and you have entire audio portion of the package.
Also included on this disc (which you view on your computer screen), is a complete print package which includes the vocal arrangements for the worship leader and praise team vocalists. Overhead transparencies are in both English and Spanish. The orchestration includes each instrumental part as well as the complete conductor's score. We've even added a complete guitar chord chart as well. Now for the fun part! If you want to use any or all of the above items, just point and click. Everything is available to print right off of your own computer printer. Never again filed the lead sheets or overheads...they are all there on the CD disc. You now have what you need, when you need it!
Another feature that we have included is downloads MIDI files for each complete package. So it's possible to work with just a few instrumentalist. For example, if you have only trumpet, trombone and clarinet players muter their specific channels on your MIDI player. Then, print their parts for them to play along with the remainder of the audio orchestration.
This gives you unheard of flexibility in designing and implementing you worship services. Initially, we are planning 40 different packages, built around many themes, including Christmas, Easter, Missions, and other special themes.
All of a sudden, the mind goes wild just thinking about ministry opportunities beyond the congregational setting: Sunday School classes, Prison Ministries, Cell or Home groups, any type of meeting where you want music around a specific theme. Now all you need is your computer and printer for the music, and a boom box or CD player, and your ministry can go anywhere you go.

In January the following titles will be available: The Name Of The Lord-including Ancient Of Days; Victory Chant; Blessed Be The Lord; Blessed Be the Name Of The Lord; No Other Name. Thou Art Worthy-including Thou Art Worthy, Great Jehovah; Exalt The Lord Our God; More Than Anything; More Precious Than Silver. He Will Make A Way-including Crown Him King Of Kings; He Is The King; Great Is Thy Faithfulness; God Will Make A Way. Now the church will be able to support its mission to go "into all the world" and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with worship music that travels. With these new ministry tools, that actually can happen as much as you care to dream.
